Adventures On The Rock (AOTR) was created to help more people learn how to get into overlanding, off-roading, and adventure travel.
We are also on a mission to spread awareness of sustainability and Leave No Trace principles, so no more trails are shut down and we can all enjoy the beautiful world we live in for many years to come.
Overlanding can be an expensive hobby, but it’s much more affordable when you’re armed with the knowledge of what’s actually worth spending money on and what’s just a useless mod.
We’re here to lessen the burden on your wallet and help you spend more time exploring!

About Bill
Bill Widmer is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Adventures On The Rock. His job is to make sure that every article published meets his extremely high standards of accurateness, ease-of-understanding, and intrigue.
Bill has traveled to more than 30 of the United States of America by road. He’s gone overlanding across most of the western US in his overlanding Tacoma build and even traveled the country living in an RV in his early 20’s.
Now, he’s currently exploring the few states he hasn’t yet seen in his 1999 Ford e350 4×4 conversion van and growing the Adventures On The Rock team. (We’re hiring! Click here to learn more.)
